ARTIST’S NOTE:
“Call Me Siren” is about feminine rage, throwing off expectations, and the Epstein files. It's about what it feels like to live in a world where your mere existence is oversexualized. It’s being told to cover your knees and shoulders at 12 years old, grabbed at on public transport at 16, told to wear looser clothing, don’t wear cross-body bags, don’t wear leggings, don’t let your hips sway when you walk, don’t bend over, don’t dance a certain way, laugh a certain way, look at a man a certain way, watch what you say what you wear what you think how you move how you look never ever ever being free of the weight of men’s leers.
It's about the impotent rage of watching rich men refer to little girls as “young women” so they feel better about hurting them, and seeing those same men remain unpunished in positions of power.
Ultimately, it’s about knowing that men will call you a temptress/siren/flirt no matter how much you police your existence and it’s about saying “say what you want, try to constrain me as much as you wish, I am wild as the sea and her unforgiving waves and I will live and move freely. It's about saying “call me what you will, I know who I am and I am so much more.
